I haven't tried my 3.0 card, but I suppose I could at some point. Even then, it's the US version so it wouldn't work with Bonanza Brothers. Either way, I get the feeling it's not going to run anything at all. I did try my arcade card Pro and the main screen came up but I couldn't load any games or anything. And when I press select, it just shows three lines of artifacts. No text. So at least the arcade card Pro doesn't seem to work on it which seems strange to me. That "three lines of artifacts" on the BRAM menu is usually a symptom that the Super CD RAM is not available... When you start that card, does it show the word "SUPER" or not ? (If Super CD RAM isn't available, "SUPER" won't be displayed) The Arcade Card Pro is the same ROM as the Super System Card 3.0, so I would expect that it ought to be recognized...

Yeah, it shows the standard super System card screen when I booted up the arcade card. But pressing run doesn't do anything other than it attempting to load a game.

Jodie of Turbo Reproductions told me of another game that has problems, Loom. His daughter was playing the game, but then after the Twister where you get to the glass maker area, the game froze. When she tried to load her save, it had been erased.

You can make it load CD games by choosing "HuCard/CD" or "CD/HuCard" (sorry I don't remenber which one), in "Settings\Analogue OS\Startup Action". It's a nice way to have a more authentic feeling, the Analogue logo just displays for few seconds at boot up, then the good old "press run button" splash screen I was missing so much appears in all it's glory

Interesting. At first I couldn't get Maniac Pro Wrestling to work, just got a green screen. However, switching the boot up to Hucard/CD made it boot up right away into the game! I wonder if other games that have problems working on the Duo can start up with that setup?

When she tried to load her save, it had been erased. The Analogue Duo has backup saves. My Dragon's Curse saves were erased, but thankfully, I was able to get them back.

I exchanged it for Air Zonk, which i had no problems with.

Interesting. Either I'm forgetting that there were bugs in the game, or there was more then one version of it. I beat the game multiple times and I'm trying to remember bugs, though it's been at least a couple decades since I beat it last.

I've only played through it once, but it's been within the past ten years and I don't remember encountering any bugs. I must have gotten lucky. I haven't tried playing it on the Analogue Duo, but once I've finished Tengai Makyou:Ziria, I'll give it a shot. I've been meaning to play through it again.

There were certainly a lot of odd graphic behaviours in Loom, which were pretty bad-looking.
When the PC Engine core came out on MiSTer, there were a lot of issues logged related to Loom (mostly graphic-related), but when I checked against how it ran on the original console... it was identical. Just a bunch of sloppiness apparently. I don't recall any game freezes etc. being logged (if there was one, it probably would have been logged against the core).

I remembered playing and loving Loom. I don’t remember any graphical glitches but it’s been so many years I’m certain I simply wouldn’t. I was a little sad the graphics didn’t use more colors. Seems like it was a rushed port, or at least one on a smaller budget.

Well, they weren't really "glitches", but they were graphic sloppiness. Things like foreground not reaching the edge of the screen or something flickering in an unexpected way - things like that. ...Things that could have been considered "that's just how it is" back in the 90s, but users today consider impossible to exist in professional releases.

I'm currently (gradually) testing games & then reporting what I'm finding to Analogue. Hopefully this'll help them work out the bugs. I wishbthis wasn't necessary.
One game that just plain doesn't work that I discovered is the US version of Ballistix. I know there's going to be rioting in the streets over this one, such a popular title!
