I think Legendary Axe 2 is pretty much shite. Overly hard I am not in any way trying to brag, but Legendary Axe 2 is without a doubt the easiest pc engine platformer next to that children's game "Niko Niko Pun". I have consistently one-lifed the game multiple times. Yes if you die on the final boss it may be "bad news bears", but if you have full powered sword and lots of smart bombs you're good to go. Especially since the first phase, all you do is stand on the corner platform and jump slash over and over again. Just stick with the sword, only use the sword. Use the chain on the worm boss. That's it. Amazing music, tight gameplay. The problem with LA2 is the utter lack of difficulty. It makes the Bonk games look hard. Wut? Really? Jeez I finally resorted to emulation on one of the later stages. it was never actual battles that got me, but this level was largely climbing platforms, I think it was either the last or second to last level. I just couldn't seem to make it and kept getting kicked off the platforms by various shit. Maybe I had lost my powerups previously and was just being lazy. I DID always try and keep the sword as I recall (been a while).

I'm pretty sure Splatterhouse would easily convert you over to our Dark Lord himself. Thank goodness we got the mostly Satan free TG16 version!

Arcade card Strider is a steaming pile horse crap.
Pc Engine Duo is a flaky machine that breaks down has no Cd error correction it looks nice but don't buy one get a Duo R instead, I do own both.
The TG16 is hideous looking and its way to big, i do have one of them as well.
Your nob is properly not as big as you think.
Altered beast is a good game not the Pc Engine version even tho its ok.

It is what NEC thought us 'Muricans wanted. Bigger is always better! Honestly, I like the shape and size of the TG16, except the expansion port sticking off the back. If they had managed to integrate that into the front half of the unit, a wide, shallow TG16 would have been just fine.
I enjoy Altered Beast, and I think the PCE port is just fine, but I do think it's kind of a shit game on any platform, including the arcade original. I just happen to like it.
The fact that so many Duos are still working (excluding the issue of bad caps) is actually an indication that they're pretty solid pieces of tech. The units debuted in 1991 and 1992 and they're still going! Look how many Playstations, PS2s, PS3s, and Xbox 360s have died horrible deaths in that time, and they are much younger systems.

The TG-16 has an authentic PC Engine style and the shape is exactly what NEC gave Japan at the same time with the SuperGrafx. At least the TG-16 doesn't have a Masters of the Universe playset exterior.

The TurboGrafx-16, IMO, is only "ugly" when you compare it to it the tiny hot sex that is the PC Engine. When you compare it to the Genesis or (especially) the SNES, it's pretty damned sleek.

I don't own an arcade card and I don't care.

Controversial:I don't own an arcade card and I don't care. Yeah it's not worth it really unless you really need to play Sapphire.
