There are a lot of people who mostly just buy from people they know. There’s the external market and then the internal market. Game collecting and playing is actually huge right now, but a lot of the buying and selling takes place out of the “mainstream” online markets.

I think Legendary Axe 2 is pretty much shite. Even if you ignore the first one and how it changed the series, I still think it's shite. Overly hard, overly dark, shite.

I think Legendary Axe 2 is pretty much shite. Overly hard I am not in any way trying to brag, but Legendary Axe 2 is without a doubt the easiest pc engine platformer next to that children's game "Niko Niko Pun". I have consistently one-lifed the game multiple times. Yes if you die on the final boss it may be "bad news bears", but if you have full powered sword and lots of smart bombs you're good to go. Especially since the first phase, all you do is stand on the corner platform and jump slash over and over again. Just stick with the sword, only use the sword. Use the chain on the worm boss. That's it. Amazing music, tight gameplay. The problem with LA2 is the utter lack of difficulty. It makes the Bonk games look hard.

I know I'm not the greatest game player ever but I really enjoyed PC Kid 1. Didn't find it challenging per se, but definitely rewarding. I play more for the experience than to have my ass handed to me x times

All the Gunhead hate :/ It’s a bit long I’ll give oh that. The thing is with the Soldier series (and most console shooters) is that it needs to be played on the hardest difficulty possible, the default is wwaayy to easy. Thing is, they don’t want casual shooter fans to be put off so the default difficulty is always a bit...meh..boring. For example Soldier Blade on normal is a pushover but crank it up to HARD and it’s a whole different beast! complete with suicide bullets and all new punishing patterns. Please don’t judge them on default difficulty!

I have a couple of issues with Gunhed; The attack waves on the first couple of levels put me to sleep and the music composition is not that great. I know it is beloved as most people's first PCE shooter, but I started with Super Star Soldier and that is leagues ahead.

*Takes a deep breath*
Cosmic Fantasy 2 is shit. Let's face it, the only reason people love this game is because of the story, a story I don't know much about because the gameplay bores me to tears before I can get very far. It's not because I hate RPGs. I love RPGs! But this is the most boring, poorly designed RPG I've ever tried. The battles have less strategy and nuance than Dragon Quest 1. There are items you can buy that negate status effects that don't ever occur in the game, a fuck-up so bad that many people assume that Working Designs did it, but from what I hear, it's like that in the Japanese version as well! From a gameplay standpoint, this is a TRAINWRECK! People who love this game need their nostalgia goggles confiscated.

I love the bosses in Super Star Soldier, nothing is more epic than the 5 phase Brain in the ship. The robot is cool too. But when lightning is basically the only weapon that works well against him, that's a huge problem. I had to completely restart the game multiple times in order to get another good crack at the Brain. Funny this is though, I prefer Gunhed's tunes over SSS. I feel like all the Soldier games (and if you include Gunhed) have huge weapon balancing issues except for Soldier Blade. Haven't played Star Parodier enough to really know (and haven't played Nexzr yet)

Though I was told by a friend that the music composition is off-key I still love it to pieces. Plus, the game gives us actual explosion sounds instead of the default, crappy "crunch" sound that's so overused in lots of PCE games (though it does invade the game in spots it's much less frequent).

I'm not a fan of Gunhed's music, but still enjoy it much more than SSS. Final Soldier has the best shooter soundtrack of all time. I don't mean soundtrack in a shooter, I mean we likely won't ever have a more perfect soundtrack for shooter games.

I love how bizarre Gunhed's soundtrack is, but I don't know that I would ever want to listen to it outside the game. I do think it has the best collection of sound effects of any shooter on the platform, though. The sound effect design is just awesome.
