Ha, I'm a bit sensitive to this stuff, anyway. Even without having grown up with the Turbo, I noticed it. I also remember very much noticing the same thing with the NES Classic core (you can install it on the SNES Classic). Just the way the shots sounded and the plink of Mega Man landing was enough for me to notice it - I've played those games far too much to not catch it. Still, even with it there, I wouldn't say it completely ruins it, but it is suboptimal. Wish there was a way to fix it; maybe some intrepid hacker will figure out how to modify the core and reduce the sound latency setting. I've dealt with lagging input. I had a Plasma my brother gave me that I used as a spare TV for a minute, and running composite signal to it had really bag in input lag. I was able to get used to it and play most games (I didn't have a choice)... but sound lag (not matching the action happening on screen)? I don't think I could ever get used to sound lag, or rather, out of sync sound. The thing about the mini's input lag though, so 4-5 frames out the box.. then you're TV is going to add some. +3 frames if you're lucky and have a good set, but that already puts you at 8 total. I imagine it's worse for other TV sets. Oh, yeah, a lot of TVs do a terrible job with de-interlacing composite content. Not only does it looks like trash, it also plays like it. My otherwise fine 4K TV makes composite look absolutely awful. The RetroTINK 2X improves the image by a huge amount, even for composite. I think some games make the sound lag more noticeable than others. For instance, it didn't bug me in Soldier Blade, but I'm also not as familiar with it, plus you're pretty much always shooting anyway. You're right on the stacked lag, though. 3-5 from the emulation, add in your TV, add in a game's lag itself, and things can feel pretty mushy. My TV resides at around 1.5 frames of lag (25-ish ms in game mode, PC mode is a little higher but has been improved through firmware updates).

Anyone have any idea where I can find info on the progress of hacking the turbo Mini? I don't think they've released anything as far as progress. I think the best place to check is probably the Rockin' the Classics Discord or Reddit. I probably wouldn't bother asking potential release dates, though - the folks there will probably just tell you to leave them alone and that it's ready when it's ready. www.reddit.com/r/RockinTheClassics/

It's weird. On other forums I'm the resident grump and grognard. Here I'm downright positive.

QUESTION: is the TG-16 Mini pad *slightly* larger than Japanese ones like the originals were? Its such a small difference you may have never noticed it but yeah, TG-16 pads are wider by just a new mm. Not sure if you're still wondering this, but since I just got an original pad: They are, as far as I can tell, the same size. I only took the one picture, but I did look at them from a few different angles.

We’ve found the limit of their budget. The pink caps were a ruse to cover up for the PUNY and NARROW TG-16 Mini pad. I CAN’T BELIEVE KOMANI F$&@e# us like this!

just wondering, is twin bee mini game only on the tg16 mini and pce coregrafx mini? or is it on white pc engine mini? If you mean the one that’s in Tokimeki Memorial, along with Force Gear, then the answer is yes because the White PCE has Tokimeki Memorial in it.

The rollout for this unit has been terrible. Firstly, it's only on Amazon, which is horrendous to begin with, and always sold out. Furthermore, Amazon seems to be manhandling the boxes....

They may be always sold out now but preorders were open for months. The pandemic shutdown even gave people more time to preorder it.
BTW, you manhandled your image links I think. They don’t show up here.
