I seem to recall Jody, I think it was, did a NES2PCE port of Arkanoid. I swear I remember them selling it on their facebook group. Since I wrote nes2pce code, that would be news to me hahah. AFAIK no one, outside of one person originally back in 2009, did anything with the source (assuming you could even find it) for other nes roms. Did the original 90's Finland group "5 nes collection" rom have Arkanoid in it? If so, maybe he ripped it from there.

Well, he probably just ported it the regular old-fashioned way then. I've always just lumped nes games on the pce together as "nes2pce" is kind of catchy.
It's from way back in 2018. I also remember him sending a hucard of Jackal to the youtuber who screams in his garage a lot.

Pachinko controller… ? Would be a challenging game perhaps… Would be interesting, but I assume it springs back to the original position when you release it like a real modern pachinko paddle does. They usually have a switch you can hold with one finger to lock it in place and rest the other fingers, but that doesn't sound too useful for Arkanoid.
The XE-1AP is the other analogue alternative besides the mouse. The throttle can supposedly be rotated horizontally so that it makes sense for a Breakout game.

A Megaman game would have been nice, if it had been exclusive and not just a port. Another World would have been great. Hell, I'd settle for Flashback. A highly colorful, tuneful, and more challenging Pacmania wouldn't have been out of place, I think. Though I've recently wondered what a game like Super Metroid might be like on NEC's platform... Not the game itself, but something with the same care and design.

It would actually be a game to use the second turbo function on to spread your fire as robot masters were invulnerable for a moment immediately after getting hit. Too bad we didn't get a Super Metroid clone in the same vein of Neutopia/Zelda. Never played Another World, or Flashback.

With all the Namco arcade games I think they missed a trick not doing Rolling Thunder. Shame Namco never tried their hand at CD titles either.

But Namco largely moved away from NEC/Hudson once the US Sega Genesis market was more compelling, and they did eventually make up with Nintendo.

No console port at all and it's not even on hamster arcade archives for modern consoles. Dunno if it could run on pce maybe using the arcade card.
