I'm sure the answers aren't as straightforward as this; some of us have multiple setups or are wary because they've heard stories about improper RGB. I'm primarily interested in how many people are using modern equipment and how many are purists for CRT.
Please feel free to add comments.

I only play on a CRT. I like using RGB, but s-video and composite are fine.
My TV is particularly good with lower quality signals and RF actually looks great while playing pre-8-bit generation consoles.

If I were to ever play old games on a modern TV via HDMI, I'd see the whole setup as a kind of secondary system. As such, I'd prefer to simply use a MiSTer or a Raspberry Pi over something like an Upergrafx or a Framemeister/OSSC in tandem with a real console.
To my eyes, CRTs are still the superior method for viewing 240p game content by such a wide margin that anything else is unacceptable. I've deliberately stockpiled so many CRTs that my supply should outlive me, and this is where all my "good" hardware gets connected.
I suspect I'm not the most typical user, however.
As I've often reflected, I don't particularly like having to deal with these bulky, heavy CRTs that often have one foot in the grave. If future TV technology becomes truly competitive in all areas - with low input lag, flexible refresh rates, no added display artifacts, and the ability to look genuinely CRT-like given the right filters - I'll switch. For the time being, however, it's pretty much inconceivable that I'd ever use HDMI.
I would, however, be very curious to see if the PCE's native RGB could be reprocessed to use its YUV palette. I'm also looking forward to finishing the improved S-video mod and doing a careful comparison to see where it really beats RGB.

DUO-R+S-video+Toshiba 27" CRT.
If I were to use a real system that utilizes RGB+upscalers on a modern TV, it just ends up feeling like emulation to me. Probabaly due to lag plus the colors not looking like what I'm used to. Because of this I'll typically just use a modded Wii or xbox if I really want to play turbo/pce on any modern TV. I might consider getting a turbografx mini for modern TV use but I don't see a reason to go the route of a real system modified to work with an modern HDTV since I prefer a CRT anyways.

I actually quite like the image of S-Video as it's quite clean and sharp but one thing I noticed with it is you get dithering which I never see on RGB screens.

You are correct. For some games that scroll from right to left especially, dithering can still be seen with s-video. but it is much less compared to composite video. So I can live with it.
I've been thinking about upgrading to component since I've found a better internal component video board to alleviate this problem but just haven't gotten around to it on my own system yet.

RGB / S-Video / Component on a CRT if I can. Lag on modern TVs runs from slightly bothering me to making a game unenjoyable to play.

If it's the mod I'm thinking about, it's because that s-video mod is using composite for Y signal. I.e. it fixes the color bleeding issue, but it doesn't remove the cross talk of C into Y. So it's like a half-svideo mod.

My video out on my NEC systems is all over the map: 1)TurboGrafx-CD w/ SSC, SuperGrafx: Composite (I think it looks good still) 2)Turbo Duo, PC-FX, PC Engine: S-Video (I'm happy with this too) 3)Duo-R: RGB+Component: [Looks and plays amazingly on both my PVM (A pain to use at my current home), and my 32" CRT]
So basically the HDMI convenience is alluring but the aforementioned lag is a problem for me, and RGB has its time and place as well. I would still like HDMI's quick setup for when I'm not in the mood to deal with hooking up to my PVM.

I only play on my CRT since I don't have a good option for playing on my HDTV and for that I use S-Video since I don't have a CRT that can support anything better. It was a nice upgrade over Composite and if I ever get anything better it will be some kind of HDMI solution.

Amped RGB Scart through a 21” Sony Trinitron. If this TV died I’d go with my Commodore 1084S. I hate playing old 240P stuff on an LCD it just doesn’t feel right, and any input lag drives me nuts.

how many people are using modern equipment and how many are purists for CRT. I would be on team purist. Still have working CRT's for the older stuff. The "modern" stuff (HDMI) is only for movies and occasionally some Steam when bored. All the solutions with mods and scalers seems to be a money pit and I am not forced to play on a flat panel, so I do not see me needing it.
