Well, I finally ended up getting on. It's pretty neat. Anyone else here have one? One thing I haven't been able to find is a set that includes "snaps", "wheel" & other info for Turbob/PCE CD games. I have them for all cart games, but I haven't seen cd games anywhere. Anyone know if anybody's made all that extra info for cd games? Also, haven't been able to get any cheats working, might need to do some searching for different cheats perhaps? My Pie came fully loaded with almost everything I would've put on there myself, so I haven't done a lot of tweaking yet, but I'm starting to. In general I'll run into an occasional game that doesn't have snaps, so I gotta figure out how to do that, but I imagine the process is quite time consuming.

Besides being tiny what benefits are there to using this over a PC? Isn't emulation quality worse?

I originally got mine out of frustration from the failed ZX Spectrum Vega Plus. I wanted that thing to rock. I found that the Raspberry Pie handles that, & much much more. I haven't noticed any emu problems yet, seems really good from what I've tested so far. If you want to bring it to a friends house, no problem! I love how customizable it is. Probably someone with more knowledge of it all would be able to explain it. Personally, I don't have a PC with an HDMI out, so that's another reason for me. I also just like having a separate device, if my PC goes down, so does my gaming/emulation. That's just some of my reasons that I can think of at the moment.

I'm pretty sure it handles everything before ps2/Dreamcast no problems, and even some dreamcast/later CPS2 at a push. It's just easy really, you have a dedicated little box that you can plug joysticks into, plug it into the TV, take it with you. Definitely worth looking at

Now that's what I call a hefty chunk of wood.
Regarding Retropie compatibility issues, did you guys tried N64 emulation yet? From my experience, this is one of the consoles that give emulators most trouble up to this day, with sound, graphics and loading issues.

Thanks guys.
Regarding N64 emulation, I haven't tried it. Only have done MAME and Turbo.

I've tried a few N64 games, Kirby 64 worked ok for the most part, booted up Castlevania, but didn't have an analog controller hooked up at the time so couldn't move Reinhardt or whatever his name is.

Daedelus 64 on the PSP is a really good emulator. I remember following the progress on the blog years ago. Someone else has taken over now and compatibility is very good, but the next update should make a big step forward from what I remember

I have a bunch of Pis; they're so much fun to tinker with! The first one is used mainly for RetroPie, but I haven't messed with the stock interface much, and that doesn't come with the spinny thing. It emulates everything from Atari 2600 up to the 16-bit systems great. I've got PS1 running on it too and it seems flawless, but I've only played a handful of games on it. N64 is kinda janky, but OoT is playable. I haven't been able to get Dreamcast working on it yet. I have another micro SD card for that pi that has DreamPi installed and configured on it. It's fun to play Dreamcast games online again. The second one I purchased for my son with the Google AIY Voice Kit and we put that together one weekend. But then we found it kind of creepy having an always-on microphone in the house, so it hasn't been used since. I also have a Pi W 0 that I set up Pi-Hole on which acts as an ad-blocker at the router so it blocks ads for all connected devices. I convinced my job that we needed one to power a tv screen on the front lobby as a digital sign, but I haven't found software that I really like yet.

That remimds me, I was going to see if I could hook up a pi 0 as an internal samba server for a ps2 slim

Has anyone tried running exe files on their Pi? There's a few homebrew PC games I'd love to play on it, namely, the 2 Lecarde Chronicles games, & AMRM2. One of my friend's did some extensive searching & said there's no way to get the latter to work on a Pi, not sure about the former.
