AM2R is only available as a Windows executable, right? If so, I doubt it will run under other platforms.

The Pi is an Arm-based platform and is not x86 compatible. You can play some older stuff via emulation in DOSBOX, but something like AMRM2 is not going to work.

That's using Wine in concert with an x86 emulator, which means you'll only really be able to run much older stuff.

I have a raspberry pi with retropie and love it. My favorite use for it is carrying it on trips and vacations.
I haven't figured out the MAME tho. The arcade roms play, but the controller does nothing.

Have you tried hooking up a keyboard and seeing if that works? If it doess, you may have to re-map the mame keys to the controller.

No but I will the next time I fire it up. Thanks for the suggestion. Have you tried hooking up a keyboard and seeing if that works? If it doess, you may have to re-map the mame keys to the controller. Sent from my VS985 4G using Tapatalk

Has anyone tried running exe files on their Pi? There's a few homebrew PC games I'd love to play on it, namely, the 2 Lecarde Chronicles games, & AMRM2. One of my friend's did some extensive searching & said there's no way to get the latter to work on a Pi, not sure about the former. I haven't tried it, but I know people have gotten Dosbox running on Raspberry Pis before. That's probably not helpful for the games you're looking to play, though.

I haven't tried it either yet, but I think Dosbox is pretty standard stuff, & is solely for old Dos files, like King's Quest or whatever.

When using RetroPie, how do old games look on an HDTV? Been thinking of making a retro-box and hooking it up to my TV (Turbo, SNES, Genesis, NES, etc.), but don't want to bother if the games are stretched or look like ass.

I think they look great, & there's tons of customization you can do. I just leave them in their original format.
