Hold on. BT Garner did Turbo2K.net?
I had a few conversations with the webmaster, and I thought it was Jamaniaclord or something like that... Not BT...
Am I wrong?

In the UK, CVG magazine (Computer & Video Games) did a review of Makai Prince for the PC Engine but in their review they called it Son of Dracula and used their own custom english logo and artwork for it. When I got into collecting for the PCE in the late 90's/early 00's I tried locating the game but couldn't find it anywhere so did some research on websites like PCECP and BT Garners's Turbo2K eventually discovering it's true name! 89% in graphics? I'm a fan of "Son of Dracula", it definitely shares a few similarities with Bonk 2 in terms of the "high-road/low-road" design (though overall a much simpler game). But the graphics are far from a strong suit!! Yea, the graphics are really simplistic, like Bonk's Adventure. Possibly even more so. But just like Bonk and many other Naxat games, the play control is RIGHT and TIGHT. Same goes for the gameplay and level design. Hold on. BT Garner did Turbo2K.net? I had a few conversations with the webmaster, and I thought it was Jamaniaclord or something like that... Not BT... Am I wrong? Not sure, but it sounds like something he would have initiated. BT was also in charge of the Turbo Mailing List way back in the day.

BTW, did you guys know that Makai Prince Dorabocchan is actually... The PCE game Makai Prince Dorabbochan is the prequel to the hidden SNES gem of a game, The Twisted Tales of Spike McFang! I did not know this until recently. Oh Woah, never noticed this before

I know this is not a popular opinion in retro circles but I really appreciate casual/friendly/easy platformers. sometimes I want to just finish a game without any difficulty and have a nice time with some nice music and some cute characters for 20 minutes, and dragon egg gives me that!

My reasoning for its inclusion is there are platforms you've gotta jump across, and if you fall in you take damage - that's pretty platformy I'd say! But I do see where you're coming from, it's more a "run and gun" than a straight platformer.

I gotta say, I'm also kind of shocked by the number of votes Shinobi got. It's a pretty rushed feeling and incomplete port. It doesn't even have the ninja star throwing bonus stages! That's the best part!

shinobi is definitely not a showcase for pc engine-ness If it were really faithful to the arcade like After Burner or Out Run, it definitely would have rivaled Shadow Dancer on the Genesis. Oh well, we got Ninja Spirit, and that game is MOST definitely up there with Shinobi, Ninja Gaiden or any other ninja themed platformer you can think of
