What are your top 5 PC-Engine HuCard sidescrolling/platformer games that never made it to North America? (The 2 SuperGrafx HuCards, Daimakaimura and Granzort aren't included)

So happy to see Liquid Kids doing so well!!
No chiki chiki boys?
Had to pick Aoi blink over shinobi unfortunately. Aoi blink is more of a platformer and like a Mario 3 “lite”.

I thought Chiki Chiki Boys was a CD game. It looks like the poll is for HuCards only.

Aww, No love for Fushigi No Yume No Alice or Makai Prince Darabocchan? Those games are excellent in terms of gameplay, imo.
I bet if somebody hacked a Mickey Mouse sprite into Fushigi No Yume No Alice, it would be a smash hit haha... it's basically Castle Of Illusion, right down to the floaty jumping and butt bouncing play mechanics.

Doraemon - Nobita no Dorabian Night is another overlooked gem. Kinda like Makai Prince Dorabocchan, the graphics are a little lacking in detail, but they're colorful and the gameplay is fantastic

Naw, it's trying to be a Megaman clone... Yea, but shooting is next to worthless in the game. Much like throwing those apples in Castle of Illusion. it's all about that jump+butt bounce lol

Yea, giving some of the more overlooked ones some play time... Alice (In Dreamland?) seems pretty analogous to Castle Of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, just more repetitive. With some Mega Man elements mixed in, as CCovell mentioned. Imagine Castle of Illusion with unlimited apples and bosses that occasionally repeat with color swaps lol. Makai Prince Dorabocchan reminds me a LOT of Little Nemo The Dream Master on NES by Capcom. Except with early 16-bit era graphics by the same guy that drew the Bonk games. Awesome! Doraemon is kind of deceptive. At first, I thought it sucked. Then i actually played a ways into the game and it kind of grew on me. The control is pretty tight, and it's like Quackshot meets Doki Doki Panic. The graphics also get noticeably better after Stage 1 for some reason. Dragon Egg would be GREAT, but when you get powered up, you become so powerful it breaks the game, hard. It's a short game anyway, so that just makes it a cakewalk. Somebody should hack the ROM and tweak the damage numbers, the game would be 200% better haha. It's still pretty fun, but once powered up, it's like cheating. Some of the music in this game grates on my ears sometimes too Momotarou Katsugeki is amazing, and I implore anyone who has not played this to go play at least the first level of this game in full. This deserves a translation, imo. How Altered Beast got 2 votes, I'll never know... that's another game that's hopelessly broken, but this time it's the controls. If somebody hacked that game to map Jump to 'Run' and/or 'III', and also so it didn't pause a HALF SECOND between pushing the button and actually jumping... it would actually be pretty good. There's something funky going on with the knockback too... like you don't stay invincible long enough after you take a hit.

How Altered Beast got 2 votes, I'll never know... At least it's better than the CD version... I'll be even more baffled if someone voted for Rastan 2, seriously. (Unless there actually was someone voting for it, as I couldn't see the result for not casting any vote, reason being I just realised I own none of these HuCard games and had tried only a few of them.) Also, no City Hunter? I think it also counts as a Japan only platformer, and understandably games like Takeda Shingen not being a platformer.
