I'm super late to this one but it looks pretty cool. Looking forward to when I can buy a copy.

Aaaaand I'm done! Fun game, really enjoyed it after getting my footing in the early going. I think I probably got the good ending? Anyway, 99.6%, so I'm not sure what else I missed. Clearly something, ha! Probably an extra coin or something around the map.

Awesome! Yeah, sounds like you missed just 2 rooms, I'm pretty sure I can guess which ones.
And definitely the good ending - you can't hit that percentage and get the bad end!
What was your final time?

Around 5h28m. Probably actually higher than that in real time; maybe seven hours. I had several early deaths where I lost progress, and I also occasionally rebooted instead of carrying on when I hit a dead end and it was faster to just resume from a save point. I was way too tight with my money early on, concerned I'd run out. I was also really inefficient, missing a path in one of the last areas and scouring earlier areas instead with the cloth sail... which revealed to me where all those locked rooms were for the end game were, anyway, ha! The two rooms I missed were from not going back to the darkened area, which housed a soul upgrade. So I got my 100%. I finally got the hang of the swing mechanics, but it took me long enough. Learning when to hold forward when coming out of a swing and when to keep the stick neutral made all the difference.

7h sounds about right. Hopefully it's right at the sweet spot of being "worth the money" while not dragging on for too long.
Yeah, I expect the swing mechanics to be the most divisive part of this game. I tried to include pointers in the Kickstarter and in the manual, but I imagine some people will give up and say "screw this game!" I feel like once you get them, they feel really good.
Also, I definitely called it on which two rooms you missed. You can actually get that in your first run through, but it's designed to be accidentally ignored/not found on the first go-round, to give it replay-ability. I'm surprised you found the gold coin room!
If you find all 9 gold coins and complete at 100%, it should open up a new mode.

Waiting for the TAS
Jokes aside, I really hope the speedrunning community finds and loves the game. By putting in the completion% and in-game timer, I built it to appeal to them, so there can be different categories like 100%, any% good, any% bad, low%, etc. I got my lowest time yet, a 1:39:25 for 100%, while playtesting the Sega Genesis version. If the game made it into a GDQ, my life would be complete.
Also, if people missed out on the kickstarter, please PM me. I need test orders for my website I'm getting set up.

It wasn't all joke. I really enjoy a good TAS, and the PC Engine is under-represented as a TAS platform. I appreciate your role in getting PCE TASes on TASvideos.

Yep, I saw the new mode open up. Very cool. And yeah, I think the length was just right. I was a little worried early (as I am in most exploratory platformers) when the percentages seemed to be going up really quickly, but as usual, it was plenty long enough. I definitely got my money's worth, and I'm happy I caught the Kickstarter in time! This is actually the first legitimate PC Engine CD game I own that I could actually complete (the others being Japanese copies of Xanadu I/II and Cosmic Fantasy 2). I was really, really late to the PC Engine scene.

Please give us an update on shipping of the Kickstarter Turbo CDs to Europe! Are these sent out by now or are you looking for the best possible way to send them in bulk? Kindest regards

Quick question for DarkKobold: could you please provide an update on the KS page? Lot of users, me included, are waiting for updates on the Europe delivery and on the Genesis cart. Thanks

I don't think it will download since it obviously isn't part of their database, but when the Polymega becomes regularly available I would be most interested to know if this plays on it.

Not sure if I trust any system that uses "original media" but needs to cross-check against a database. Does it really do such a thing ?
