Anyone want to guess what this is (various clues are in the photo)?

What they did after the FX and also at the same time...was make Saturn games really. They also had a good time on the Cube later. They’ve released a Momotaro Dentetsu game for almost everything.

Looks like Gamecube devkit to me too... Congratulations to you both, you got it right away! I actually thought it would be a bit tougher. ;-) I only just noticed that it was made by Hudson, or perhaps I'd seen years ago and just forgotten about it. I think that it clearly shows that Nintendo didn't have any bad feelings about Hudson for competing against them with the PC Engine. Is that your devkit, Elmer? Yes, it's one of mine. I'm not sure if those are considered rare or not these days, but it is one of the only devkits that I can remember where the manufacturer (i.e. Nintendo) actually bought back devkits at the end of the console's life. Usually you're just left with a bunch of expensive trash that you can't sell (if you want to keep an ongoing relationship with the manufacturer). I've been digging through a mountain of old development systems trying to decide which I have enough of a personal fondness for to actually keep, and what-on-earth to do with the rest.

As Hudson also developed all the Mario Party games until... well Konami disbanded them. Yeah, Hudson and Nintendo did lots of stuff together from before the FC and after. If I had to guess I’d say they probably made more money off games/hardware for other people’s stuff than they did off PCE. Out of forty or so games Hudson made for SFC there are two other Bonks and five Super Bomberman games (and a Hudson made tap) and only three for PCE. Nintendo is also supposedly the only reason the Dentetsu series is back (although with the new art you may not even notice.)
