For those who don't know, Data West's PC Engine contributions are the 2 Rayxanber games and 2 Psychic Detective games. Not the most exciting of back catalogues.

I was thinking they did a few more games than that but you're probably right. The main games I think of from them are the raisin bars (Rayxanber) games. But you're right about the second detective games as well.

According to their Wikipedia page, Data West at least developed also the PCE CD-ROM 2 game Gulclight TDF2 (published by Pack-in Video, before Data West decided to publish games themselves on the system), which was a sequel or sort of a MSX game they developed (hence the '2' in the title). They had also worked on a few LaserActive LD-ROM 2 and PC-FX titles/

Aye, they surely aren't. But, logically, one would come to that exact conclusion just as naturally as it came to you, Jash. Though Data West's quality control isn't bargain-bin material, they're not that exciting, at least to me personally. Data East wins here.
