Makes you wonder if something like that is possible on the PCE composing music for homebrewn games made easy.

I’d love to have some sort of PCE music program, especially if it were possible to implement MIDI through the controller port or load MIDIs from CDROM.
Recently Sam Battle made a dedicated MIDI interface for the Megadrive. It’s pretty rad just being able to grab a knob to adjust something. He needed some MD MIDI composer cart (name escapes me) to get the whole thing going though and to my knowledge there isn’t one of those for PCE or if there is it’s not really ready for musician-types.

Crackers! It has the port right on it?
Yeah, something like that...but I need to see the front end, so to speak. If it doesn’t have one, if its some Telnet BS waiting for the right software to some day be made then I couldn’t possibly care less.
Is the ROM meant to be on the HuCARD or the CD?

There's a ROM right on the card. From what I can understand, this is really just a polyphonic "instrument" which makes sounds as per an upstream MIDI source. It seems the guy put it together in only a month or two of spare time, so they have some serious skills.

Like this... it could become a workflow, I guess:

This is face melting and mind numbing - wow. Incredible, this guy is amazing. Any more info sharable would be great, I will dig into this and try to find some too when I get the time!

A full MIDI composer suit would be cool but I already have a dozen hardware sequencers so nobody needs to do that, at least not for me. . If I can plug my keyboard or Yamaha QY into it with no display that’s great. He’d have to have some kind of documentation though just to explain how the PSG features have been assigned to different channels. I honestly don’t know much about the PCE sound chip on any level so I’m not sure how it’s various features wound be mapped to MIDI.
