How about making flash carts that don't break? Hmm? Or better yet just do an update to what you got to play cd games? It can't be all that difficult to do. Not anti flash carts or anything, just if you are going to spend the money on one, at least make it with quality parts instead of going the walmart route. Just my 2 cents. I don't know about that. The chips being used are decades newer than what they are being used on. The companies making them are little more than a kid in a garage, mail ordering PCBs from a factory they've never seen. The "correct" components may not exist and some company too poor to even sell a case with the thing isn't going to go R&Ding new chips. Also, you make CDROM seem like its just some locked out feature that has to be turned on. You're asking for the HuCARD slot to do things it never did with an actual CDROM2. That's a pretty big job. We'll probably get it some day but its going to take a lot of work. Although that's true, we already have an entire Sega-CD clone simulating all the extra hardware and streaming CD content through the cart slot, all with no additional power supply

They're making a new flash card that could be a boon for people? (Especially for people developing CD homebrew games) How dare they! They should spend their time making pointless, negative arguments on forums! It's way more productive and beneficial to society!

Too bad its for such an inferior system...

Although that's true, we already have an entire Sega-CD clone simulating all the extra hardware and streaming CD content through the cart slot, all with no additional power supply Two things: 1) It wouldn't work because there aren't sufficient connections on the HuCard to mix sound effectively. There is a mono signal, but it goes into the PC Engine... so I guess it would be possible if you wanted to give up on stereo from your CDs 2) I've noticed that there are basically zero modders or other makers who are watching power consumption, and noise along the power lines. On a system like the PC Engine, I really couldn't say ho much of the 650mA from the AC adapter that it's already using... but nobody seems to be thinking about this. FPGA solutions will take a non-trivial amount, and additional hardware on the system will do the same (assume >100mA for FPGA solutions to anything like this). For this reason, all of the device makers will tell you that their device works, but only if nothing else has been added to the console. That's actually kind of reckless. I think I would like to study power usage to see just how much leeway really exists...

How many of you guys already have more flash cards than HuCARDS? Seriously, does this shit ever stop? How many pieces of crap did you buy between the release of the Gamepark 32 and the Pocket Analog? Can you believe there is only one PCE? I mean, yeah, 17 different versions but they all play the same HuCARDS the same way. When you tell people “just buy this and you’ll be set” does it ever seem weird that you then buy three more version yourself after that? When your phone bugs you for an update...does that actually make you guys happy? It seems like you just love love love buying flash cards. I’d be really pissed off that the money I spent on the last three didn’t really...take. I can see where your coming from. Though a CD solution would rock, and I'd totally buy one, every week something new comes out for our old systems be it a fancy video cable, flash cart, etc for us to go further into debt over. I want to go back to 2009 when things were simpler (and cheaper!) and I didn't feel like I was missing out on this week's newest gadget because I have bills to pay.
