Open up your system, find the row of three white potentiometers, and turn the middle one 1/8 of a full rotation counterclockwise. Check and see if it works. If it doesn't, give it another 1/8 turn (you want to do this as few times as possible). If it doesn't work after it's been turned 4/8 of a full rotation, it's probably not going to work, and you'll need a new laser. Good luck!

I did this very thing when I got my first and only PCFX a few years back. Problem is I neglected to mark my original position. I think I went no more than one or two "1/8" turns counterclockwise. Is this going to cause me problems in the future with either the laser itself or reading factory discs? I gave credit for samIam's hard work discovering this to my friend Jodi (who's talented in his own right) by mistake so I apologize, Sam. Thanks for discovering this.  |
