Is there anyway we could create and pin a thread here with a list of community members and their preferred game development skills?
EXAMPLE:
“lordcack
Tile Artist
Worked on: Mysterious Song Remake Pyramid Plunder
Currently Working on: Gerald’s Game Jungle Bros. Clash Jungle Bros. Neutopia III (tentative title) Untitled ARPG ::::EDIT::::Untitled MIni Game
Also was conceptual designer for Jungle Bros. (And all of its separate components) as well as Dragon Arm along with many other game concepts.”
This way if people are interested in starting a project they know who to ask and if they are interested in working on a project they can also ask.
Just a thought but I believe it’s a good one....

You've got quite a few projects on the go,your getting all the assets done before acquiring a programmer I assume.

I have been working on the trilogy (Gerald’s Game, Jungle Bros. Clash, Jungle Bros.) since 2007. I started working on Neutopia III tile work in 2008 or 2009. The newest set I have been working on since 2010 I think.
All the tile work is complete for all Jungle Bros. related titles. I have 5 exterior tile set for Neutopia III and have been working on some structures interior and out. I have one dungeon set complete as well. As for the other ARPG, I have one set really worked out.

That's an interesting idea ... especially if we can actually get some new folks turning up with a desire to create a homebrew game. I'm not interested in working on a homebrew game myself, but I am spending time trying to see that the tools and tech that are available to current developers are improved so that homebrew-folk can create games that are more graphically impressive.

In fact sprite design is complete in Jungle Bros. . I mean they need animation but the basic designs are complete. I have to go back and reimagine the attack patterns and such to try and cut down on animation frames..... it would have been beautiful

Gredler, weren't you working on a hockey game?I can't recall if that was you or not. I would love to, but I think I am the only person here with that passion - and I imagine programming an AI heavy game such as hockey would be a very difficult homebrew challenge. If I were to make one it would have to be in blades of steel or NES ice hockey style, and it would need to be in a modern engine which would handle the legwork of memory management

MSX forum had this as part of your forum profile, so you could click people and see what they could do.
Maybe some icon or title on HomebrewRelatedIdiots so from any of our posts, you can see that we are all insane.

Not sure it’s insane for wanting to make games but it’s certainly insane to want to depend on people to make games

Programming games for a 20 year old console is even more insane. Perhaps it becomes sane again when the console hits 30+ years old?

I think it gets more insane the older the hardware/console.

I've added 'Homebrew Skills' to member profiles to fill in if they wish.
