I have 3 busted Famicom Disk systems up for trade too. But yeah, I needs a new Commodore 64 or 128 to replace mine that finally bit the dust. NTSC preferred. Thanks..

Do you have any plans on repairing the broken one? Since I see lots of through-hole components when looking at photos of the C64's PCB, I guess this shouldn't be too hard of a job. Might as well be a faulty chip or power supply. The 8bit guy on Youtube does a lot of restoration / repair work on his channel, so watching some of his videos should give you an idea of what may have gone wrong with your machine.

The pop you heard was almost certainly a cap blowing. you want to open it up and clean it with isoprop asap before the cap juice can corrode anything important. You can probably fix it with about $5 and a couple hours max. console5.com/store/kits/computer-cap-kits-1/commodore/c64.htmlLooks like there's roughly 20 caps on board, all of them THT caps. You should replace them all, but you could try replacing the blown one (it should be fairly obvious which one that is, and probably a fairly large one) to see if that brings it back before you do the rest.

Might bust out a meter to check the traces, but it literally caught on fire. It doesn't look and smell very pleasant to say the least.
