I am forever in love with these works!! I wish more composers knew how to push the PCE chiptunes like this back in they heyday... <3

I wish you could combine talents with someone to produce an epic C64/Amiga style demo with those tunes (assuming they don't kill processing power for anything else at the same time).

Dang those hold up incredibly well! Castlevania IV and Streets of Rage still have the same "punch" to them.

How much instrumentation is sampling in these, compared to chip generated sound?

How much instrumentation is sampling in these, compared to chip generated sound? Usually, just the drums. The Castlevania IV, Star Fox, and one of the two Gaiares covers are ALL chip/PSG drums, though (no samples anywhere). Any voices are obviously PCM samples. I would do more PSG percussion on the PCE, but Deflemask's support for white noise is kinda janky. Plus, the PCE is great at doing samples, so why not take advantage?

Sure, take full advantage! It's just interesting to know because you've managed to coax some impressive sounds out of it on these vids.

Have you thought about compiling these into a mini album or something on Soundcloud?

Have you thought about compiling these into a mini album or something on Soundcloud? Oh yea, I'm on Soundcloud @ soundcloud.com/user-716572978You'll find all my TG16/PCE stuff there, as well. If you look elsewhere on my Youtube channel and Soundcloud page, you'll also find a lot of Atari 8-Bit chiptunes, if you're into that sort of fuckery, lol.

Would be nice to have the PCE stuff bundled into an album. Just sayin'.
