Probably the last one for a week, while I take a break.
Legendary Axe is a stranger to no-one, a very popular action platformer featuring an innovative charge mechanism. The longer you go without attacking, the more your attack gauge fills, which leads to some interesting tactical play. The spritework I feel has something odd about it - the main character has no face, and a lot of things seem indistinct, but everything is well animated. The backgrounds are definitely the graphical highlight, with low repetition, and gorgeous attention to detail. This one is a must for fans of hack and slash games.
Jackie Chan's Action Kung Fu is a simpler type of action platformer game (but given how you all love New Adventure Island, it's certainly more interesting than that). The first thing you notice is that this game is gorgeous. Well designed and large, detailed sprites, detailed backgrounds. This has to be one of the best looking games on the system. And although the routes are fairly linear, there are secrets accessed by hitting invisible bells, though these are mini-games rather than secret areas or some such. The game also features several different moves - punches, kicks, a charge hadoken move, and some special moves. All in all, it's like someone merged the Kung Fu with New Adventure Island and made a decent game.

Legendary Axe,I consider it one of the best games I've played and it still plays very well today.

Both games are awesome for completely different reasons, but I think Legendary Axe is more carefully constructed. Also, Jun Chikuma's soundtrack is so inspired. I love the different styles and jungle beats going on. Such a unique auditory experience.

This is a tough one...LA has mad nostalgia being such an early game but Jackie is fucking JACKIE, damnit! Spenoza said it best...both awesome for different reasons. I cannot vote one over the other.
Now, if one was to play LA on Joshs' custom TG-16...I might have to lean toward it. But then again, I could throw in a JC LD and have it playing the in the background while chop socking some baddies.

My head says Legendary Axe, but my heart says Jackie Chan. Always follow your heart, kids.

Legendary Axe is part of the 1-2 punch that made me get into Turbo stuff back in the day. Seeing the giant end boss in a commercial peaked my interest. The dark, moody graphics and sound always stuck with me.
With that said, I had to vote for Jackie Chan. The colors are so bright and vibrant, the game feels super tight, and the peppy soundtrack is incredible. Today, when I show people Turbografx stuff, I would show them Jackie Chan before I show them Legendary Axe. ...sadly, my copy of Jackie Chan decided to die on me at some point. It doesn't work in any system I own. It's a crying shame. Why couldn't my copy of Drop Off died instead!?

Jackie Chan is just faster, less frustrating and more fun to me. LA is still great though, but JC wins out here.

Legendary Axe for me. I think Jackie Chan is a great game, but it never resonated with me the same way.

This was a tough call for me, but I ultimately went with JC because I find it more enjoyable to play.
