...or 'How many new/old consoles can people make before we're all jaded, ripped off and nobody cares any more'
Here's an article: www.eurogamer.net/articles/2018-05-30-ataris-old-rival-intellivision-returns-with-a-new-console-of-its-own
Here's their FB page: www.facebook.com/IntellivisionEntertainment/
And this was recently posted on facebook:
Hi Everyone! Just joined this amazing group/community! If you aren't aware, we have announced that a brand new Intellivision console will be coming out in a few years! The Facebook page for the new console is: Intellivision Entertainment. We are actively seeking developers to create for the system and we will be recreating a lot of classic games (updates of graphics & audio, similar to what they did a few years ago with R-Type). The system will also have a TON of brand new all exclusive games as well. So if you have an idea and a team that you are looking to get funded and published... please let us know!
Feel free to send me an e-mail directly at: Tommy@IntellivisionEntertainment.com and please feel free to ask me ANY questions here. Our approach is VERY different than the Ouya, Chameleon, Atari VCS in SO many ways! First.... NO CROWDFUNDING!
Although I can't divulge the hardware specs yet... I can tell you that if you can create in Unity... then you'll be happy. We will NOT be doing any 3D games on the system. Only 2.5D or 2D. Power of the machine is NOT important for the styles of games we are creating.
Also... we will have a huge presence at the Portland Retro Game Expo in October. Hope to get the chance to meet some folks from here! Lots of info about the console will be revealed on stage during our keynote!
Hope to start a positive dialogue with everyone here and please feel free to reach out over e-mail to set up a time to talk over the phone.
Thanks!

So, have we had enough of these new machines, or could this be something pretty cool?
