What's the longest you've taken to complete a game? Mine isn't a save (and will one day be surpassed by the Ocarina of Time, which I still have my og save file for, and have never completed) but is for a game called Martello Tower for the Acorn Electron.
I first encountered the game at school in the mid/late 80s, alongside games like Candyfloss (a trading game), but the game features a lot of maths-based puzzles which were too difficult for me as a child. It's essentially a semi-educational text based advanture, and it's really quite good. I think I started a walkthrough for it somewhere, and as you can play it through a browser it's accessble enough. It took me ages to find though, as I thought it was Granny's Garden earlier. Anyway, I finally managed to clear it either last year or maybe earlier, which gives me a clear time of somewhere around 30 years.
Can anyone beat that?

I can't recall exact dates but I could never complete The Hobbit on the Spectrum. But one day, years later, I booted it up on emulation and did it pretty much first time.
I was so pleased I sat down and started singing about gold.
