What is that Paul,I've never seen that before. It had a selection of basic Pong style variants.
This is a really shitty video of it but it's the only one I could find on Youtube of a Mk8.

How different were the games on that thing? Surely there's only so much you can do with pong

I don't remember it that well but mostly variations on lines going up and down with a ball bouncing. I do remember Gridball being like a series of vertical lines with holes in that you had to get the ball through - on high speed you could make it go crazy.

First console? It depends.
For the 1st console that I played that belonged to my immediate family, it was the Nintendo 64. My brother got one back in Christmas 1998. Although my mom originally bought one for him in mind back then since I didn't really play console games at the time (played arcade stuff though), I started to play N64 stuff a while later, particularly around 2000 or so. It wasn't until my mom bought a Dreamcast in 2001 that she often had both me and my brother in mind when buying games & systems.
The first portable system that I could call my own is a white GBA that I got back in 2002, when I was around 8 (I still have it). The first home console that I got that I could call my own is a Super Nintendo that I got in early 2006 that I still have today as well.
