Years back when I use to use pcedaisakusen site I always found their statistics page fascinating www.pcedaisakusen.net/2/35/stats.htmI just looked on there for the first time in years and the ranked "Best rated games" has changed a bit. "Lords of Thunder" used to be no.1 then "Dracula X" no.2, but now "Gate of Thunder" has moved up the rankings to no.2 and the "TurboDuo 3-in-1 Pack-In disc" has jumped in to the top 10 to take the top slot.

It's all skewed because you have to own a game to mark it as "cleared". I assume the same goes for rating games.

I wonder what I've rated.

I like that Final Match Tennis made the top ten, it's a solid game and not one of the usual bunch of games you see PC Engine "top lists".

Is there anything that makes it stand out from other Tennis games, let alone around the same time or even the SNES sequel? It seems to have a small cult following in Europe and even a website www.final-match-tennis.com/frames.html

Is there anything that makes it stand out from other Tennis games, let alone around the same time or even the SNES sequel? It seems to have a small cult following in Europe and even a website www.final-match-tennis.com/frames.htmlI haven't really played it since the nineties, but I played it a lot back then, played it multiplayer. Yeah back then it was regarded at the best tennis game around on any system. The blurb on PCEngine.co.uk sums it up "Final Match Tennis is by far the deepest tennis game in terms of gameplay on the PC Engine. In fact, its play controls are among the most sophisticated in a PC Engine game and in general, in a tennis game (what still counts to this very day). Don't get fooled by its simple graphics. There is everything in this game that tennis is about. Smashes, stop balls, volleys, back and forehand spins or lobs. At the top of it all, you can play it in every thinkable player combination (training, tournament, 1-4 players). By the way: in addition, its one of the best multiplayer games ever. Roger"

Wow, maybe I need to get this. Btw, Smash Tennis (snes) and Mario Tennis (gba) are my top picks

I have nine clears on my PCE Dai so far. My latest is Cadash from a few weeks ago. It's been years since I've cleared a Turbo game sadly.

Wow, that Final Match Tennis fansite is amazing. Love the tiled Logo in the background and ‘webmaster’ link. An innocent era of the internet. Brill
