Jun Chikuma composed some really interesting and unique soundtracks for the PC Engine (and other platforms) and I think she is underrated and under-appreciated in the VG Music composer pantheon. Faxanadu, Bomberman, Legendary Axe/Makyou Densetsu, Military Madness/Nectaris... Those soundtracks are all SO different. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jun_Chikuma

I most of those a listen this morning as, aside from Legendary Axe which I ran through last week, I hadn't heard them for a while. Of the ones you listed, Faxanadu is easily my favorite. I would agree though, Jun Chikuma is skilled at making music with a great deal of variety.

Faxanadu master race.
I think many don't even know her. Faxanadu is a very popular game soundtrack.
Lots of people don't even realize that game is Falcom/Xanadu related.
We need a ... PCXanadu
Turbanadu?
That game was awesome, and we didn't get anything like it on PCE from that series. Legacy of the Wizard would've been awesome too.
I like the Xanadu and DS games we got, but the mechanics of Faxanadu aren't present. The closest you'll get is flailing like a drunk hillbilly while playing Sorcerian, lol.
Her Necromancer music is also great. It has a weirrrrrrrd atmosphere. Sometimes the instrumentation is odd, but the overall feel of the music is just out there enough to be weird without being shitty.
