Forty eight (48) new tracks are coming in Mario Kart 8. That’s a lot of tracks!
I might be amazed such an old game gets any DLC but I shouldn’t be I guess since people are playing this game online nonstop worldwide 24 hours a day.

I think the 7th best selling game of all time may have the chance to move into 6th position at this rate.

I think total unit sales, according to Wikipedia, is 51 million units, 43 million on Switch. 8 million WiiU units isn't bad, certainly, but even if every one of those copies was purchased in duplicate on Switch that would still be 43 million unique purchases. And now $25 for 48 tracks across 2 years is a pretty insane value.

Mario Kart 8 keeps selling and it is in the millions so nintendo doesn't have a reason to make a sequel still.Weird how it took many years to make dlc for it.My guess there won't be a part 9 until the next gen console comes out.

Oh yeah, for sure making Mario Kart 9 on the Switch would be just throwing money away and dividing your fan base. This isn’t the first DLC for MK8 though, on the WiiU I bought…something, I can’t remember. Didn’t I? On a side note I sure wouldn’t mind some crossover fun like Smash Brothers has. That game has the coolest guest characters and such but I simply CAN NOT enjoy the game. I’ve given it way more than half a chance on numerous occasions. The whole…punch people off the island thing…I can’t get into it, never will, but I’d play Sonic or Terry Bogard in a kart for sure.

So NatsumeAtari announced a new version of Kikikaikai 奇々怪界 (Pocky And Rocky) called 'Pocky and Rocky Reshrined' for the Switch (and PS4).... and it looks great. I love that they stuck with the Pixel Art aesthetic and didn't go crazy with HD graphics and Shader FX polish. The look seems more based on the SNES version than the original Arcade release (or the PC-Engine port thereof). TeaserWebsiteRelease date set for April 21, 2022. Physical and download options.

The look seems more based on the SNES version than the original Arcade release (or the PC-Engine port thereof). It's actually mentioned explicitly in the official website that this will be a direct sequel of the first SFC game, if the subtitles weren't obvious enough. The SFC game's subtitle was "The Mysterious Black Cloak" whereas this new game is "The Mystery of the Black Cloak". Natsumi is actually actively bringing back sequels/remakes of licensed SFC games that were developed by them at the time, like The Ninja Warriors Once Again, which was a remake/expansion of The Ninja Warriors Again that they had developed for the SFC, instead of the original The Ninja Warriors from Taito.

Picked it up last week. And I agree with Chump Junkie's review. Really excellent game and looks gorgeous.
