So.... After years of mocking people who made posts on social media about their game rooms, creating posts that are filed with 7500 pictures of their Intellivision collection, or whatever, I finally broke down and cleared off a space for myself and my games. None of this is bragging in any way, so please don't take it as such, you'll see what I mean. Read on...
Now that I have a 52" 4K television, a nice 28" Samsung CRT, another 32" HDTV, and about 40 consoles all plugged up, mostly classic.... I go in there and sit down and look around and I realize that I HAVE NO CLUE WHAT TO F*****G PLAY! It seems that conglomerating all this stuff into one spot didn't end up being a heaven for me, more like an indecisive hell where I have so many gaming choices that I can't make up my mind. I go in there with the intention of re-visiting some obscure, classic game from the past, and I end up staring at the walls or reading a game manual. The answer is, more often than not, clearly PC Engine, but yet I still end up being dumbfounded as to what to devote my time to. Having Everdrives with every game on them make it even more hard to choose, it seems, since if I do actually turn a system on and intend to get busy, there are a thousand games to choose from.
Has anyone else ever experienced this phenomenon? I think maybe having less is sometimes having more. Back in the 80's and 90's I only ever really had a handful of console games at a time, thus the pickings were more slim and it seemed like I was able to dedicate more time to the few titles that I did have in my possession. Now, I'm like Charlie in the chocalate factory, except I can't choose which candy to eat. I feel ashamed in a way.
Tell me your thoughts, and if you have ever built a game room and then had a hard time picking something to play and devote time to!
