There are numerous PCEngine/TurboGrafx compatible consoles that were made back in the day. Someone asked me about compatibility of one of the clone systems, and It made me realize how little information is out there on these units.
Over the decades I've identified a lot of different parts and pieces, but it's shocking that I still find original items that I have never seen documented.
This year, I uncovered the Hori Fighting Stick Multi - Packaged for the USA Market, is a fine example of what I mean.
Does anyone have a compatibility list for the different consoles available?
Specifically
- What region games work on the system? Hucards (JPN)/Turbochips(USA)
- What is the Power Connection? (110v US/JPN, 220v Europe, 220v HK, other?)
- What AV connection was provided at console? (NEC?, Component, Other?)
- What AV connection was provided to TV (RF, Component, other)
- Does the console support AV/Memory Add-ons (Boosters, Banks, etc.)
- Does the console support Software Upgrade Add-ons? (IFU/CD/SCD Expansions?)
- Any known compatibility issues with software (does clone support Tap/Multiplayer, games that do not work, etc?
- Controller connection size (PCE/TG16) (all are packaged with a single 2-button except 6-button RX and PC-FX)
Ideally, I would love to see this built into one of the existing databases so we eventually have a single exhaustive list of everything PCE. I just need some direction for the best way to get it done.
As I compile this list, I feel compelled to keep adding info, but a forum post is a bit too limiting for what I hope this could ultimately become.

If what I'm looking for already exists, somebody please point me there.
If not, I'm more than happy to work on data collection, and information I've found. My database is in Excel, hopefully that will be a useable format for someone to import into a web-friendly format.
I'd need tech help for terminology, etc. (I don't know what the name of the AV connection on a standard TG16 is called - for example.)
Also, if possible, it would be best to append the data I am looking for to existing statistics that I haven't compiled like (color pallette, resolution, etc.) If that doesn't exist, I'd be happy to add to the database, just need references and suggestions for the categories.
