Dickface at the end of Vigilante if you haven't played the game in awhile, lol. Sweep the leg. That isn’t a guaranteed strategy, it only works sporadically at best. It’s strange, on the arcade version you can beat the final boss without taking a single hit by walking in and out and hitting him with standing kicks, no problem, but on the PCE version Irem beefed him up so that doesn’t work anymore. From my testing there isn’t a consistent way to beat him, unlike every other boss which can be exploited with a simple pattern. The best way I found is to get to him without dying and then hope he dies before you do :/

If you're using richter it's no wonder then where's with maria it's easy. lol, I saved Maria but it never actually occurred to me to try and play as her, I'll give that a shot next time I play this! It doesn't look that hard to do as Richter when I watch youtube videos of that fight but I just could never seem to do it. Well there is a pattern to it with ricther but it's not so simple.Still, most of the time i fall back to using maria for any time i get stuck on the boss rush using ricther.

For Shaft you HAVE to have the boomerang or axe and conserve your hearts against earlier bosses in the rush.

I've been thinking about this for a while. There are a number of hard PCE games, like Rayxanber II (brutal)... whose bosses are comparatively easy. Or you have bosses that are tough, like in Irem's Image Fight... but that's because the port is weird and they made the ship's hitbox 1/3rd bigger from the arcade for some reason. Or you can have a plethora of tanky RPG bosses with way too much health and not enough resources or strategies available to deal with them.
Special shout out to the poorly-designed final bosses in the Valis games... Good luck beating Rogles or Ramses if you die and lose your power-ups: the game's simply won't allow you to win once you go to default strength.
