I would like to have a webpage where people can rank their top ~50 PC Engine games, and then using some kind of algorithm, weighs up a complete list of popularity that is as objective as possible.
It would be neat to do it here, but I suspect that might be pushing it a bit. Does anyone know of any sites that might achieve this off the shelf?
*edit* also then we could possibly do some kind of bracket for the top PC Engine game of all time

IE - a five week poll of 50 shooters. -Each week, you drop the bottom 10. This format forces the voters to choose their favourites amongst titles that may not be their favourite (ie in the case their favourite is already voted out), but on other merits. When you get to the final 10, the vote count determines the rank...
Do this for each category, then start the process again with category vs category.... The only drawback is that you might end up with 10 shooters and 10 puzzle games in the final, when if polled a different way, the community may rank 15 shooters in a top 50 spot...
It is a lot of work, but might be interesting to see it through.

That's not a bad idea. It would at least get us to a point where we had a communal top list. I might even do it by alphabet... It would take a few weeks, but I like the idea. Let's keep floating ideas for a day or so and then I'll start something

To tell the truth we’d probably see Rondo of blood dominate number 1 like usual.
I do like the idea though. Don’t forget the Japanese love their fire pro wrestling and f1 circus, so it’s not as much a global list

A better list to compile first and use for the popularity vote is "which games have you played through" or "which games do you play most"?

Gate of Thunder And BT, those are good qualifiers, but I can see some cases where someone might have really enjoyed playing it once and nver go back, or enjoy playing a game despite never having beaten it. I think I'd rather keep it open ended with "what do you enjoy playing"
