Hi everyone, I have a turbo grafx and have a handful of favorites I love playing. I also have a number of other systems. I've been making controller couplers for virtually all of the other major classic consoles because each of them has at least a couple of games that make use of the two d-pads This is a list of what I have so far. I wondered if the TGX / PC engine games had any original or homebrew games that leveraged both controllers. Here is a video showing my NES coupler at play for Smash TV. I would like to make something like this for the TGX if there are any games that leverage this. If the homebrew community is interested in doing something that would take advantage of it, I'd consider doing it for that reason as well. A great example of the "if you make it they will come" is the game "Robot Ron" coming out soon for the Odyssey 2. I made the coupler for a few of the games, but we have two homebrew titles in the works that will take advantage of this device. Thanks, Caleb

Forgotten Worlds has a a code-enabled mode that allows the 2 player controller to control the sattelite.
It sounds like it's designed for the kind of control scheme your couplers are intended for, but I've never tried it.
The game also supports the Cyberstick controller and operates in a similar method.
"Mix play mode. At the title screen, wait for the "Push Run" text to appear. Now hold butons I and II and press Run. The new option will allow player II to control the satelite while player one controls the character. Buttons I and II rotate the satelite and the d-pad fires."

Spriggan Mark 2 also does this - p2 can control the friendly ships with a special code. From gamefaqs: "While playing, when an ally appears to help you out, press Select + Run on the 2nd controller and the second player will be able to control the ally."

Sorry for the late reply. Thank you for this info! I don't get to this site often enough. I guess I missed the notification of a reply.
"Forgotten Worlds has a a code-enabled mode that allows the 2 player controller to control the satellite"
So in this case you're using the D-Pad of the 2nd controller to move it around.. hmm.. does it change the orientation I wonder.. thinking how it would need to be arranged to be comfortable to play.
"The game also supports the Cyberstick"
what special support would be needed for the cyberstick? isn't it just a 1:1 controller alternative to a normal controller?
"Spriggan Mark 2 also does this"
So like the other if you were controlling the other is there autofire? i'm imagining that if you could move both you'd need each thumb on a D-Pad.. but then no thumb for shooting anything.
Are both of these homebrews or original games?

The only 1 player game I know that uses 2 controllers is a NES homebrew called Candelabra - Estoscerro, but you're supposed to hold them like wii motes.

holding like wii-motes is exactly how my couplers are designed to work. I do this for the NES and Sega Master System. Sounds like there is at least a few games that could take advantage of this coupler for this system so I have another item to add to my list! Thanks everyone for the leads on this.
What is the homebrew scene like with turbo-grafx? Do many people make games for original hardware or maybe the scene is driven more by emulation using non-original controllers?

The scene is pretty small, but based on the people I communicate with, the target is always real hardware - although emulation is used a lot during development for convenience.
