youtu.be/StqrUPawyJISince I already compared MiSTer to original PC Engine Duo-R hardware, people kept asking for comparisons between FPGA cores and software emulators...so I figured I'd take a look at what the "best" option is if you don't have original hardware...because as long as people are playing PC Engine I am happy lol

a) To be fair, the scalers are selectable on both systems to be configured to have various results. I think these are approximately equivalent - but the default startup settings are not the same. b) For the colours, MiSTer is using the calculated RGB->YUV palette as engineered last summer... Mednafen can also accept palette files (but this palette isn't included by default). But I see that you didn't try Wonder Momo and its famous title screen (original Japanese version)... Or started up the F1 Simulation CD to hear the opening sound. I think - other than possible controller and display lag - most people won't see/hear much of a difference... But having said that, there are a couple of bugs in Medanfen still.
