![]() Hi guys, got a super cd-rom 2 some time ago, it had capacitors leaked. someone tried to repair before but not all. For instance there is a transistor which i tried to resolder. it simply felt off and one leg got broken. Can you please identify it and what's the parameters for me to buy a replacement? Thanks!

Can you show us a close-up picture of the transistor itself, just in case?

I don’t have this particular unit, but someone else may. You could check directly with Dave Shadoff or keithcourage to see if they know anything.

I am not familiar with the internals of that device, but the part above looks like it might not be a transistor. That one looks like either a SOT-223 or SOT-89 package (three pins on one side, and one pin/tab on the other), which could indicate various types of devices such as voltage regulators and so on; a regular transistor would have two pins on one side and one on the other (SOT-23).

One leg broke when i desoldered it. I was thinking this is transistor but maybe something else, sure. it is like one contact in the middle go though whole body and 2 on the sides.
