The interview was at Konami's UK offices so maybe if the employee was Scottish?

I've pre-ordered one. I mean, honestly, there's no cheaper way to get many of those games. I also happened to have $30 of Amazon credit, so it didn't hit me as hard.

It would be cool if the Pilot Disk is included with Snatcher.

I just wish Dracula X was on it. Wah Waaaaaaahhhhhhh It is. Or is this some meta humor I don’t understand? As has been said multiple times in this thread by multiple people already and elsewhere on the internet, all versions have the same stuff, just like the Sega one. Every time it gets said though people seem to ignore it. If I actually thought the games were region specific then FOR SURE the TG-16 ver would be untouchable filth compared to the JP one, just like the real libraries.

Oh, I hadn’t looked at the game list recently. Didn’t realize DracX was on there. A lot of the “final” “complete” games lists from early August don’t include it.

I'm only interested in the lineup in a "respect to the fans" sort of way... for me these are themed emu boxes since you'd want to jailbreak them anyway

I don’t have time to play most of what’s on them already. Y’all can jailbreak them all you want, but I’m fine.

They look like a nice form factor to take with you - perhaps to play in a hotel room when on a business trip, for example.

Thanks to every asshole on the internet constantly reminding us, there are dozens of other ways to do the same thing or “better”. I’m particularly interested in the official presentation in this instance. Also, as covered in another thread, I have no time to hack anything. In fact I’m officially in the market for someone to outsource what used to be routine technical things on my part. I need a guy to crack my Wii, I need a guy to build me a webpage, etc. I’ve been thinking about seeing if the university can set me up with an intern. An internship in random fuckery. I need some kid to read long books for me and stuff. I’ve leveled up, can’t be bothered, time for a research assistant. Also, I need a cleaning lady. Also I’m too busy repairing the tractor to beat Dracula X for the 100th time so this intern better know how to play games.

There's actually a small divergence between the PC Engine and TG-16 Mini. My understanding is that the TG-16 version gets Salamander, and Japan gets Tengai Makyo II and Tokimeki Memorial. Plus the version of Splatterhouse is either the US or Japanese version. Other than that, the lineup is the same. Given that I have no Japanese language skills, I went with the TG-16 version.
Assuming a hack happens (and really, I expect as much), I will probably add some of the other big hitters to make it "complete". I did much the same with the SNES Classic. I didn't technically need it, but it was the only way to legitimately play Star Fox 2 at the time. (It has now been added to the Switch Online lineup.)

I feel like I’m going crazy. I’ve read it as official word on multiple sites. The Genesis was the same way. I see no reason to doubt what I’ve read except for this thread where nobody seems to have gotten the message. Some games only exist in one language or the other but all versions of all games are on all hardware, just like US/JP versions of the Genesis/MD. Right? Did I dream that?

Please continue stating your view, as will I. I wasn’t referring to your comment exactly. I was mainly thinking of the people who never miss a chance to remind us that all of this can be done with a Raspberry Pi for half the price. If you are one of those guys then I guess I did insult you but only by proxy. If you are one of those guys then I guess you’ve learned something about how those comments sit with the people who never asked for your advice. If you’re not one of those people then that’s much preferable. At the moment I don’t know or care because I wasn’t referring to you.
