LOL. They got it from here: The three PC Engineers, united with their trusty sidekick D'Arkhagnan. Fighting brave, one for all, all for one. Source: Originally posted somewhere on PCEFX by me, and also reposted here: pcengine.proboards.com/post/1655/thread

Nah, it's a Japanese thing, older than that - from the 90's. PC Engine fans called themselves "Engineers" there, and Megadrive fans were referred to with another name I can't recall ("drivers" or something).

There are so many of these, but this is the first with PC-FX I think. I'm still in Japan on the 26th so I'll pick up a copy when it's released!

I leafed through one on Tuesday in Kinokuniya. It’s larger than I thought it would be. Very thorough even though the game descriptions are quite short, but lots and lots of photography. Decided not to buy it as I found it a bit too pricey personally.

I received mine on Wednesday, and although it delivers what it promises, it gives not a lot of extras: no real coverage of oddities, rarities, etc. No collection of cheats, even. Just a history with lots of pics of the official released hardware. Pics of all the games, and descriptions. There are no actual reviews, per se. Notoriously awful games have their gameplay described on the same footing as our beloved ones.

Looks a lot like the last new PC Engine book that was put out. I don't think that that one covered PC-FX though.

I like it - it organizes things well, tells you whether the game has memory backup, etc, has a little hardware feature on the PC-FX... I think it pretty handily replaces prior PCE guides, though I do miss coverage of the bootlegs and whatnot. I'd love one with hardware oddities in it too, but... it's already quite a big book. This is the first one with the PC-FX games too.
