Very interesting! I'm feeling like, after seeing the video above, that the Remaster would've, for me at least, moved the game's atmosphere away from the original experience. In the original game it almost always seemed to be "overcast" outside, regardless of the actual cloud cover, giving the game a way to visually represent Ryo's current hardships (surely unintentionally), but with the Remaster we would've gotten bright, sunny days in contrast. Also, though the new version would've had increased geometry, I found the new graphics to be washed out in places, especially with the gate to Ryo's residence.
Though the Remaster may have gone on to be awesome (fixing all my criticisms), I'm happy with the original masterpiece still after all these years.
