My duo has been a bit flakey reading discs, and while I initially suspected the laser, when I got it open, i could see some leaky caps. I think I'll give it a shot at replacing them myself, the dodgy ones are:
Q3 22 16v [C322][c884][c232][c616] <- circuit reference
J2 47 6v [C135][c149][c612]
I don't know.what Q3 and J2 refer to, but I guess the second line is microfarads
Anyway, my question is, could those caps be causing laser weakness? Or should I order a laser too?
Oh, and is it worth upping the voltage? Or replacing like for like?
Edit. Fuck, I think I overheated the board trying to get a tht cap out from the bottom. The board bubbled up.
Am I fucked?

No, you might have just bubbled the solder mask itself. The key is that you maintain the electrical connections. Worst case you can use a jumper wire to connect the cap to another point where the trace goes.
Honestly though, if you have a few dodgy caps you should just replace them all. If that's too big of an undertaking then consider sending it out.

Thanks Blue, you're a hero. Some of the caps look so good, they seem like they've actually been repllaced already. I might order some otger components I've potentially burned out. But good to know I'm not doomed
