Hi, I just joined this forum since I recently purchased a multi tap... and I am experiencing problems... maybe someone went through the same thing and can help me solve it... thank you very much in advance
The problem in question is the following:
When I connect an original joystick or the Avenue PAD 6 or both at the same time,The buttons do not work correctly on either joypad. what happen is that the right direction and button II stop working, the same behavior on both joysticks regardless of the Multi TAP slot,
On the othe hand, if I connect them directly to the machine works perfectly...
Does anyone have any idea what could be failing? I understand that the problem is in the Multi TAP but beyond doing continuity measurements, I don't know how to diagnose it...

There are two cases I know of where the multitap won't do what you expect it to (and in both of these, there is no actual issue with the multitap): 1) The game Youkai Douchuuki doesn't work properly when a multitap is plugged in. I don't remember what happens, but it may look like there is a problem with the cart. 2) If you use a joypad extension cable between the console and the multitap. In this case, there is some issue about the multitap chip not getting enough power or not having enough driving power on the outputs to work properly. Instead, plug the multitap into the console, and use extension cables between the multitap and controllers. If neither of these matches your situation, I don't think I have any more advice at the moment. Just remember that the 6-button controller needs to be set into 2-button mode for every game except Street Fighter II and a small number of fighting games on CDROM. By the way, here's a link to some additional controller information, some technical, some not so technical. Possibly something in there may be useful to you. github.com/pce-devel/PCE_Controller_Info

Thanks for the information, I found a schematic on GitHub that was very useful to finish the continuity test... unfortunately the test did not return anything new. The error persists, the Left and II buttons on both joypads did not work when connected through the Multi TAP, at first sight i dont see anything wrong...
