Over the years I've been poking around with the best ways I've found to format graphics to best suit the constraints of the PC-Engine. I'm not the only one, I've run across at least one java utility (I forget the name, I need to find my old archive of apps and utilities) that specializes in formatting a graphical image to suit the PCE's palette/tile layout. One of the newer utilities I've found is NESprite by a Japanese developer on Twitter. He was posting very quick and nicely-done images like you see of Usagi here (from a screenshot of the Sailor Moon S movie. I think.) Usually this sort of thing takes a lot more work to get the results you see here, but his utility accounts for line width when taking, say, a 1080p image and scaling it down to 224. It took me about 10 seconds total to produce that image of Usagi here, and a few minutes more to correct the palette to the PCE. There's a lot of other methods I've found of producing graphics like Usagi here to rendering a professional-style dither like you see in 16-color Japanese PC games. I was thinking about putting all of this into a post, but wanted to check and see if this has already been done here or if there's another current accepted tool/method that has become the standard.

I think it would be nice to see more information about the various different tools that are out there, and how to use them...

The paid version is totally worth the 300y, by the way.
