Hi all, hoping someone can help. I recently did a full recap on my TE, as it had no sound (small amount via headphone jack) and took ages to warm up (basically a white when for a few minutes before working)
Recap fixed the screen/boot issues but I still have no sound (not even via headphone jack) I've heard it's quite common for the switch in the jack to fail and am wondering if that could be my issue?
I figured the best way to find out is to bypass it so the console thinks the switch is always in the "speaker" position, can I bridge something to make that happen?
Any thoughts and help appreciated, I was really hoping the recap would do the job but clearly has not, continuity and polarity all seem ok on the caps so I don't think that's the issue, and before anyone suggests it I can't find a supplier for the correct headphone jack in the UK to just replace it so a bypass seems the best solution (assuming the jack is the issue which I still don't know for sure)
Thanks in advance for your help

Usually you still get audio in the headphone jack itself. When the headphone switch inside goes bad, it's the external speaker that stops working. I bet there is a shorted Via hole or bad trace to one of the capacitor pads.

I did check over my work to ensure the caps were installed correctly and saw nothing wrong. There were two pads damaged during the recap but luckily both were the negatives so I was able to tack on elsewhere. If it's not the headphone jack then I now have no idea what to do next

Turn the system on and put on some headphones. Then start poking a left over capacitor lead through via holes in the area near the headphone port until you hear some audio. Usually it's a short in a via hole in that area. Also, another problem area is making sure the ground to the Headphone jack itself is good.
