I was testing out all three 6 button pads for the PCE and I noticed the Hori has two 6 button modes. I tried switching between them but didn't notice anything different. I did a search on the forums, but didn't see anything related to it. Does anyone know what the two settings for 6b are for? Here's what the back of the box says (but I can't read Japanese): necretro.org/images/9/91/FightingCommanderPC_PCE_JP_Box_Back.jpg

It didn't say there are two 6 button mode. The switch is only labelled 6B and 2B(if the switch can physical be set in 3 positions, well, I think it's just the swich). If you're talking about the ".12" switch at the bottom it's for sliw motion.

No, this is for the 2b/6b switch, not slow motion. It has three positions, with two for 6B. It's probably for nothing.

Hopefully it's an alternate button mapping.

As I mentioned, there was no mention of this on the box though. It's possible that they just used the same switch part on all the switches, which could be set in three physical positions.

They used the same molds for the Super Famicom version of the controller, which has a turbo switch for each of the six buttons. When they converted it to PCE, rather than go out of their way for a new mold for a 2/6 button switch, they just repurposed a switch that already existed for it. It would have cost more money to mold new parts, so it ended up being a three way switch for two options.
