I have to play this game again (it's been years) but... 10 points if you know the names of the pilots!

Good review. I like this game a lot, but it’s basically like Cosmic Fantasy or those sorts of cinema driven RPGs from that time. All the extra budget spent on outsourced voices and character designs took money away from other resources. It’s not as easy as Sakura Wars but it doesn’t require much more strategy. The graphics in the battle sections were better than a lot of other RPGs from the same time. The cutscenes are somewhat color-poor. The ending was cool. I got this as a used rental from Die Hard around the time it came out. I think I paid $50. The guy who worked there helped me through parts of it (my Japanese was nearly zero back then) but when I couldn’t figure out how to make the ship warp I called Rayforce using the phone number on the back of the case and they were able to explain I needed the Orihalcon and after that it was pretty easy. When it was translated I gave that a shot but frankly I’d rather suffer through my 1994 level Japanese than that machine translation, and I’m pretty sure the phone number wouldn’t be answered now anyway so I’d probably just get stuck again.
