$100 seems too much to pay for entry to the Myopia Olympics IMO

After several delays mine finally shipped from Amazon Japan today. Anyone else getting one of these?

Does it just use a 5v USB power supply? That's crazy if that can power the PCE at the same time.

Oh...by back feeding through the expansion bus? That has to be it since the DC jack needs at least...probably 7V minimum to function.

For those interested, Takahashi Meijin (check the two entries on 28/10/2020) did some comparison on the image qualities between the PCE Mini and the portable monitor.

Screen is not perfect but much much better than I expected. I sat in the dark and played a bunch of Alien Crush and Override. I couldn't believe I could semi-successfully play a shooter.
Can I ask what USB pack you are using? Google translate and the back of the box for the screen says "Use a mobile battery on the power source. If so, mobile with a 1A output or more". I don't know if I can but I'd hate to get something wrong and burn something up...if USB even works like that.
EDIT: I wish I had a marquee overlay or something for 4:3 mode. Make it look more like a real 4:3 screen.

This is the battery pack I used. I’ve had it for a couple years and it’s worked great for charging various things. Glad the screen worked out for you! $100 seems too much to pay for entry to the Myopia Olympics IMO Clearly you aren’t a fan of any portable game system made before...probably PSP. This screen, any modern average LCD, it’s WAAAAAAYY better than any portable gaming system except probably Vita and Switch. A Turbo Express would just kill you. On an express you can only read RPGs at 1/4 speed because the screen is so bad. The Duo Monitor was like $1000, IRC, and worse than this. While it’s just not quite good enough for my tastes (16:9...come ON, at least matte the thing and keep it fixed to 4:3) size of the screen or screen quality shouldn’t be a problem in an age when %90 of the population spends hours every day on a phone with the same sized screen. BTW, I just noticed the price dropped on this a little.

The switch on the back for aspect ratio is nice....you don't need to put it in 4:3 EVERY DAMN TIME you play. Just leave the switch on 4:3. OTOH, the volume seems to default to 0 on every power off....which is kind a pain when using an my sd huey which need to be powered off to get back to the menu (AFAIK). Mines definitely got has some jail-bar-ish noise on it so big swaths of solid color/black ain't great, but at times with the right game/color palette....I am somewhat stunned by the picture, and the motion being so nice. Override looked awesome. Played Bonk's Revenge last night, looked great.
EDIT: and damn won't some etsy person please make a 4:3 matte/overlay. I admit the screen makers didn't make the job easy....the surface around the screen barely has any flat surface at all. It's all curves and angles, and with the screen being sunk to some degree, I'm not sure you could do much but tape something (eww) right on the sides of the screen itself.
