outside of some nichey exclusives, it is the SuperGrafx CD basically lol 2D wise wasn’t it about the same as the Saturn? There is no system from the era that can rival the Saturn in 2D.

They just banked on FMV and made a steady stream of not-action-games. and like 4 action games that aren't that great outside of Zenki. They are not bad, but they are not worth the prices.

I played one at PRGE last year (some bubble bobble clone) and was impressed with the colorfulness. It's not really something I would go out of my way to purchase as others have said has gotten a little expensive. I equate it to the Laseractive without the ability to play PCE or Genesis games. lol

I have one boxed with about 7 or 8 games cool looking machine but apart from 3 games everything else is hard to play as its all in Japanese, there are some translations out there but there not meany shame it came out when the japanese public wanted RPG, FMV and dating games such a shame.
I play on it now and then mainly zenki, chip chan kick and zeogard.

I do indeed possess a PC-FX. But just a small handful of games for it.

I own one as well with only one crappy game. I had a friend of mine make me some nice burnt copies of the "good" games plus he showed me how to adjust the pot inside the machine so that the laser would read the CD-R. I'd like to find someone who makes repro PC-FX clamshell game cases and inserts.
I'll have to take pics of my unit and post them here. It has no signs of yellowing, plus the system box and inserts are all pretty nice. It's a fascinating looking system I'll give it that much!

I've had one for several years now. At one point, I had two of them, since I got a second when I bought a lot for the games it included. Sold the spare long ago, though. I have around 45 games or so, so I have fewer than 20 games to go till I have the entire library. I already have copies of the big games like Zenki and Zeroigar, but some of the more obscure games I'm lacking can get a bit pricey too.
I still haven't played through many of them (some I'm hoping I can play patched eventually), but I've enjoyed beating ones like Farland Story FX, Last Imperial Prince, Welcome to Pia Carrot, and Chip-chan Kick. I still haven't gotten around to playing the Zeroigar patch, which I've been meaning to do forever, but I only just recently unearthed my PC-FX after it had been buried deep in one of my closets. I also have a small stack of PC-FX games I've bought semi-recently but haven't even tested out. So I'm hoping to get back into PC-FX playing soon.

Well, I have a totally-underused PC-FX, with only one official game, that I bought to test the Zeroigar translation ... but I need to perform SamIAm's pot-twiddle on it to actually get it to read CDs properly. :-(
I also have 2 PC-FXGA DOS/V cards that were a *lot* more useful (to me, as a programmer) for doing the translation testing work.
Some day I'd really like to play with the 3D chip on the PC-FXGA and find out whether the PC-FX could ever have been a serious contender against the PlayStation/Saturn.

I'd be enormously interested in your findings of the 3D chip. The 32-bit "lackeys" and their theoretical maximum limits is a fascinating topic.
My friend Jodi sent me instructions on adjusting the pot inside the console. If I can do it, and I'm a nincompoop, anybody can. Super easy stuff. You'll just need a special security bit.

I've got one - and I recently increased my library by about 10 titles. Finally got First Kiss Monogatari so I can own the one fighting game on the PC-FX, too Interestingly, since most people know about the fighter in the US, it's pretty pricey on ebay. But in Japan nobody gives a crap, so I bought my copy for 1,000 yen.

I find eBay prices for PC-FX stuff pretty overpriced across the board. I guess when there are so few listings, sellers figure they can charge whatever they please, but then they end up relisting their stuff forevermore. It takes a lot of patience waiting for listings that are actually priced to move to show up. Especially at the point in my PC-FX collecting, where practically nothing but uncommon stuff is left.
The fighting minigame in First Kiss Monogatari is pretty dang cool. I wish they made a full game like that.
