Not one of my top consoles to get but still on the list. Do you all still take time to play the system?

Sadly, it's mostly reserved for conventions and times when I have someone over and they ask "What the hell is that thing!?"

I got one after the Zeroigar translation patch was released, but have yet to play it. I played a lot of PC-FX on my first system years ago.

I had a quick go on Battle Heat on emulation (couldn't work out how the hell to play it) but aside from that, I've never played one and to be honest, the machine doesn't really interest me. I know many people see it as an extension of the PC Engine but I just can't get excited about it.

I’d like to own one just because of its novelty factor but they are way too expensive now.
Are there any FX emulators? I recall Zenkie & Zeroirgar being must plays. What are others? Isn’t there a sidescrolling anime shooter too? Or I’m I think of the PC-E game whose name I can’t remember.

I'm pretty sure Magic Engine has PC-FX capabilities, or at least a 2nd dedicated emulator within the Magic Engine family. I bought one last year to play the Zerogiar translation patch as well. In fact all of my games are burns. I just can't afford anything otherwise. I like the system, especially its casing design, but I've only hooked it up twice and one of those was for a convention.

Not me. I don't even have space for another system right now. I did play Zenki and Zeroigar a few times at a friend's house and at a convention, but that's about it. I might take a better look into the system's library once I know Japanese (and have some more space in my house as well! ) Maybe there's some worthwhile games that require learning the language to fully enjoy.

They're nearly all Digi Comics with adult themes. I'm no huge expert on the system but there may be only about ten traditional games on the system that aren't digital comics. And that might be an overestimate. I myself am fascinated with the early 32-bit period consoles like 3DO and Jaguar so the PC-FX scratches that itch. Others might not be so kind to it.

its not worth owning in all honesty unless you really like texty games and have a desire to learn how to read them.

I've got one. Managed to get it in a box about ten years ago for $80, along with Battle Heat, Team Innocent, and a couple other things. It's a really awesome "conversation piece" and I do bust it out every now and then to play some burns I made. But no, not very often.

I brought one home from Japan back in '09. It never got much use so I sold it a few years later. It's a fine looking display piece that's for sure. Being able to read Japanese would make it a much better gaming experience. 😊

It is not action packed. Plugging it in is more action packed than the library. The digicomics are pretty great if you like that, though. but what sucks is, ultimately, PSX and Saturn got more of that kind of thing too, so, outside of some nichey exclusives, it is the SuperGrafx CD basically lol

The PC-FX just doesn’t look like it has a lot to offer me as far as games go so it doesn’t seem like a console for me. That said if I ever saw one that was cheap and broken I’d buy it because I love the look of this thing, to me it’s one of the best looking consoles of all time because it looks like a mini-PC!
