So after what 20 years of fantasizing about it, I am now the owner of a PC Engine LT. I can still hardly believe it. It wasn't cheap per se, but it was an absolute steal. I would have seriously considered buying it for the price I did, but it actually came with the boxed duo monitor. Even then, I haggled. This thing needs a recap though, and I'm already shitting my pants at the thought of fucking it up XD

I feel like it's my birthday and christmas rolled together 8 times. The only downside is that if I meet the perfect woman, she can never give me the perfect gift.
She can buy me Darius Alpha though.

You gonna upgrade the screen?

No. Even though it's not amazing by todays standards, it's not too bad, and I'd rather keep it stock.
If I can find a cheap broken one (my original plan) then I'll definitely consider it. It would be nice to have a "cheap" one I can take out that I'm not too worried about damaging, but I have my portable screen now anyway, so hopefully that gets some use

Congratulations. It's the holy grail in PCE land. Don't forget the unboxed pics now. Here it is playing Street Fighter II! You know I might actually get a lot of use out of this. I could play while watching TV. Plus it has a tonne of functions I didn't know about, I'll have to look it up. It can act as a monitor and as a TV (analogue)

I'm having a difficult time finding any English instructions for this. I guess it doesn't really work as an analogue TV anymore, but it would be nice to figure out how it works. I think some old VCRs can broadcast on that signal and take some kind of AV input, so it's impractical, but not impossible.
I did find out that it's compatible with the Atari Lynx battery pack, so I've ordered one of those!

Japanese TV frequencies and US TV frequencies were different (back when analogue TV was actually being broadcast), so you probably won't find anything that matches the TV frequencies on this side of the ocean.

I found an instructables earlier that details how to set up a short-range broadcast, but it's just not really worth the effort in terms of a usable service. I can accomplish the same result (watching TV) by using a tablet or my phone. Maybe as a proof of concept one day if I get bored?
