Well I guess you could glue a little pirate hat to your TV and load up The Kung Fu - bam, The Pirate Kung Fu

Yeah pirates pop up here and there, but I have a craving for a proper 100% pirate themed side scroller or shooter.

So, all pirates all the time?
You know, they got Loom working on PCE. I wonder if they were able to port the SCUMM VM or had to manually kludge it? If the former, someone could maybe figure out how to get the old Monkey Island games onto the system.

Well, that would be harder on the assets channel. Trying to make sure all the backgrounds and everything can be reduced to 15 color tiles, etc... I think the EGA approach was a lot safer in a number of ways, and developing for the PCE CD for US developers was a risky proposition. Also, just found this. Apparently this guy is the dude who programmed the Turbo version of Loom! www.imdb.com/name/nm0830125/

No way... where did you find that out? And was it solely him?

I checked Moby Games for the credits for the Turbo version. A lot of folks were listed who were involved with all versions, so I checked the name of the programmer to see what else he was listed on. Then I searched his name, and the IMDB page also mentions his programming credits, and notes he started out as an Intellivision programmer.

This really got me thinking but i'm surprise the pce didn't get gyruss. The nes after all got it's own version of the game the pce could have had easily handle gyruss. Also the main event since hey the pce has a multitap.

The Worlds greatest detective
Also, the main event looks pretty good. The thing most wrestling games of the 90's were missing were either decent gameplay, or big, bold characters (that looked different from each other) Very few had both. Namely the Wrestlemania Arcade game and Saturday Night Slam Masters.

Hmm, they need to rethink that vehicle animation.

Somebody just go ahead & port Contra, then make Super C & Operation C with the same engine! Heck, just for kicks, makes Contra Force as well! Anyways, I can't recall if I said Jackal.
