Poor Nectaris can't catch a break Naxat's Devil Crash is a widely acclaimed masterpiece. It wouldn't take long for more advanced ball physics to appear on other platforms, but in terms of playability, and sheer inventiveness, it's easy to argue that there's never been such a leap in terms of video pinball. Devil Crash was THE pinball game for a long time, and remains very playable to this day - and the PC Engine version is the definitive version. Graphically, it's a very well presented gothic theme, music is very good etc. This is one of those titles that evokes the "just one more turn" kind of feeling. Classic. Nectaris, AKA Military Madness is my type of jam. I absolutely adored Advance Wars, and this seems to be a similar type of game. You control military units on a turn-based map, each of them having different strengths and weaknesses, and the aim is to win battles by forcing mismatches on your opponent. you can utilise terrain (or be hindered by it), and each scenario will have a different objective. This game is very well presented if functional, but there's a lot of game here. It also has a 2 player option! Great game.

Nectaris is one of the best games of the generation and games in general. One of the PC Engine's top killer apps.
Devil's Crush is entertaining and good for a 16-bit pinball game, but leagues apart from Nectaris.

I'm just not a fan of strategy games.
I am a big fan of pinball, so there goes my vote. Devil Crash has replay value forever.

This is so tough. I think Nectaris is definitively a better game, but Devil's Crush has some real iconic value that's hard to ignore. It's a bit of flash vs substance, except the flash also has some substance and the substance also has some flash.

I voted for Devil's Crush. For starters, it's a solid pinball game. You can reliably practice and become skilled at the game which is something that I can't say about a several of the earlier pinball videogames on the NES. Beyond that, the atmosphere is fantastic. Tons of effort went into making the game dark and creepy and said effort really paid off. It's not just a pinball game, it's an adventure and a fight against evil.
Military Madness is a Blast though! This was the first strategy game I ever played and I loved it. From the title where the astronaut is seeing the planet rise from the moon to the badass military battles on a hex grid.
Both of these games are 100% worth playing and owning. These polls are becoming more challenging to determine a personal choice and thus more interesting to see the results.

This was such a tough choice, but Devil's Crush just gets played more nowadays. It's perfect for 15-minute breaks.
