Don't know what Chris, Dave, Tom, and BT (of Mindrec) favor. C is fast to write, and slow to execute (and sometimes limited by the API). I'll use this to whip up something fast, or runs tests. ASM is slow to write and fast to execute. I don't use this 'from scratch'. Even if I wanted to, I'd still rip out the initialization/startup from the HuC library in order to remember what needs to be initialized.

::::Edit:::: I have ALL the graphic work for this on my computer For both games?Jungle Bros. and it’s prequel Jungle Bros. Clash The simple answer is yes. The prequel is a 2 Player Competitive game like Mario Bros. Only with a story and some differences in gameplay etc. Basically, the way it worked out was I designed all the tile work for Jungle Bros. then Black Tiger took my original work and added the dithering effect and extra color. The game was simple in appearance and as you can see, BT really added some wow to the graphics. So, instead of scrapping my original work I decided I would use them, as basic as they are they still look very nice, and build a simple game concept around them. Thus Jungle Bros. Clash was born It can basically use the original engine so it really just needs the music (chip tunes I hope) and animation added as the level design is complete. Of course each of the games stages (19 in all) are only one screen so, it wasn’t a challenge. The mechanics aren’t all the same and it should be a blast to play really. Bonus, while work would move forward on the, I can actually finish up level design on Jungle Bros. Which was moving along. I have all the layouts worked out but putting tiles together isn’t as fun and dream like as it sounds hehe. Anyway, the simple answer is, yes.

Not so much like that in execution but in concept.
The two players will try to collect the most treasures that randomly appear on the screen (stage one for example you must collect the best of 7).
Your whip kills enemies but is used to “push” each other (like Battle Mario Bros. On Super Mario 3 in Super Mario AllStars) but in the Mario game you bump into each other (if that makes any sense).
Enemies enter the screen from various spots and take multiple hits to kill while you only take 1 hit (two if you have collected a coin from the chest on screen which you can loose when your opponent whips you).
It should be fun and competitive and I have wanted to work on a two play simultaneous game.

Now that you went into some details it does sound quite good.

Now that you went into some details it does sound quite good. There are some other details that make it more interesting but I think it will be fun.
