What are some not so well liked PCE games that you still have a soft spot for?
I can't say I have many but here's a few
Altered Beast: it does some things better than the genny version (music (it loops too), colors, sprites) though the lack of i-frames is godawful. I've still managed to beat it a few times
Samurai Ghost: I utterly hate the first game. But I think the sequel is a solid game with some of the most gorgeous graphics on the system.
Cyber Cross: kinda rough but still fun. Reasonable difficulty. It's a real shame how bad the sequel turned out
Strider: it's kinda ugly and missing a bunch of songs. But the gameplay, set pieces and level design are still top notch. Final level also isn't as cheap. Still an awesome platformer.

I used to think Hit the Ice was an awful game mostly because I'd spend a few minutes losing every round but then I spent and bit of time learning the controls till I was able to beat the AI. I think it's a great port.
Cadash too. The music used to put me off this game but then while I was playing I'd go do something else and just let the game music play. Now I actually enjoy the music now and think it's one of it's best characteristics.

Double Dungeons - This game gets shit on all the time, but I find it's awesome for popping in for 15-45 minutes to clear a level or two. I wish there was more variety to the soundtrack, but what's there is excellent. And it plays great on the Express.

I don't think i've seen any hate for the game at all.I've played, cadash allot in the arcades and it's one of my favorites by taitio beside enjoying the TG16 port more compared to the genesis one.

Power Golf, especially playing on the Express. Easy way to kill 20 minutes.

Puzznic is fucking awesome, and if you don't have it, you should get it. It's cheap as chips. I was disappointed but not super surprised it wasn't even close to making the top 128 games on the system, because it really should have

Impossamole. Yep, that's me, the guy who can find pleasure in a shitty game about a pudgy mole with a cape who kicks his enemies. And that music...so freaking terrible.
Yet, I still enjoy it.

Addams Family. Hands down, #1
It Came From the Desert. Very soft spot for the FMV scenes.
Ghost Manor. No idea why.

I actually have no problem with spending a half hour with this one from time to time! I'm proud to say I'm a fan!! <3 ****************** Posted by KingDroolJul 23, 2018 at 9:34am Impossamole. It's one of my favorites with Shockman, Ninja Spirit, Air Zonk, Legend of Hero Tonma, the first 2 Bonks, Legendary Axe 1 & 2, Dungeon Explorer....well, you get it, it's one of my tops. It's totally authentic Euro gaming music, love it!

I can't say everybody shits on it, it just gets overlooked a lot, but... Mizubaku Daibouken aka Liquid Kids is one the best platformers on the system, and one of the better platformers of the 16-bit console era, imo. It's basically Bubble Bobble, but made into a full sidescrolling platform adventure.

NEVER understood the hate...this game scrolls buttery smooth and is just old school fun.
